ISI threatens explosions; alert sounded in Assam

GUWAHATI: Islamic outfits like ISI and Al-Qaeda may strike in a big way by triggering off serial explosions in the state, highly-placed sources in the Assam Police disclosed on Sunday.

An alert has been sounded in all the districts of the state following an intelligence input that the Islamic outfits may target public places, including religious places, passenger vehicles, army camps and others to prove their might. The police have been asked to maintain strict vigil, besides carrying out search operations. The Islamic outfits may take such a move to avenge the eviction drive at Dhalpur in the Darrang district on September 23.
