GUWAHATI: Jharkhand state BJP president Babulal Marandi alleged that a senior police officer had hatched a conspiracy against Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma during his election campaign in Jharkhand. The Chief Minister said that he had noticed Marandi's post on social media. "I'll talk to him on this issue later," the Chief Minister said.

The Assam Chief Minister was the party in charge of the election campaign in Jharkhand.

The Chief Minister said, "Two ladies came to me. Their manner of speaking made me remain alert, deal with them accordingly, and send them back. I had no personal rivalry with anybody in Jharkhand. However, there were political differences, and that might make my political rivals make attempts to frame me."

In his X handle, Marandi wrote, "During the Jharkhand Assembly election, which senior police officer from Jharkhand paid someone twice to send them to Delhi and Guwahati in an attempt to frame Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a conspiracy? This will soon be revealed with evidence. Chief Minister (Jharkhand) Hemant Soren Ji, were all these despicable acts happening with your knowledge or without it?"
