Jihadi arrested in Barpeta district; cops get custody of another one

A CORRESPONDENT

BARPETA: The Barpeta police apprehended two jihadis –Hannanul Islam and Safiq Uddin Ahmed – after conducting raids at various places in the Barpeta district. While Hannanul Islam was caught from Garemari Pathar on Sunday night, Shafiq Uddin Ahmed was apprehended early this morning.

The police took Hannanul into custody for 8 days.

Shafiq Uddin Ahmed got caught when he was hiding in a small village in the Kalgachiya area. AN NIA team also reached Barpeta today to interrogate the 10 ABT members arrested in the last five days.
