GUWAHATI: The LPG (for domestic consumers) price in the state rose to Rs 1,048.50 per cylinder today, with a hike of Rs 50.
The price of LPG (commercial) rose to Rs 2,507 per cylinder with a hike of Rs 102.50 last week. The middle-class, lower-middle-class and poor consumers will feel the pinch of this hike in the price of LPG.
An Indian Oil official on condition of anonymity said that a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder refill has become costliest in the Dima Hasao district where the price stood at Rs 1,108 on Tuesday, followed by Hailakandi (Rs 1,093), Cachar (Rs 1,084.5), Karimganj
(Rs 1,084.5) and Nagaon (Rs 1,022). The price of each LPG cylinder stood at Rs 948.5 in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia, which is the cheapest in Assam.
The prices of printing paper also rose today. Meanwhile, the Inland Water Transport Regulatory Authority, Assam, has proposed hikes in the fares of ferry services under IWT (Inland Water Transport) services in Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Silchar as per the provision of Section 16 (1) of AIWT Regulatory Authority Act, 2018.
