Madrassa principal grilled by Barpeta police

BARPETA: The Principal of Shaikhul Hind Mahmudul Hassan Jamiul Huda Islamic Academy, Maminul Rashid was called in for interrogation by Barpeta police on Sunday night.

Interrogation of the five jihadis, who were arrested recently from the Barpeta district, by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and other investigating agencies is going on. Police sources said that Maminul Rashid met Bangladeshi national Suman alias Shaiful Islam alias Harun Rashid once. Both of them allegedly exchanged their contact numbers. Later, Maminul Rashid contacted Suman for filling up a vacant post of teacher. Accordingly, Suman joined the Shaikhul Hind Mahmudul Hassan Jamiul Huda Islamic Academy and later became the imam of the madrassa at Dhakaliyapara.
