BISWANATH CHARIALI: In a shocking incident, Azizur Rahman, a 108 Ambulance employee, divorced his wife by sending a text message on her mobile phone.

The Central government banned triple talaq recently after passing a Bill in the Parliament. The young man from Adabheti village under Chatiya Police Station in Biswanath district, was married to a young woman named Begum of Gowaltali village about a year ago. Since the marriage, his wife had been allegedly subjected to abuse. So the family members of Begum brought her back home with the help of the police. She gave birth to a boy.

However, Rahman sent a message on her mobile saying 'talaq' three times recently and wanted to finish the relationship. A helpless Begum lodged an FIR at Chatiya Police Station on Friday and the police have started investigation after registering a case.
