Martyrs families threatened to go on 'fast-unto-death' across State

JAGIROAD: An organization comprising martyrs' family members — the 'All Assam Swahid Niryatita Parial Samannoyrokkhi Parishad' — have threatened to go on 'fast-unto-death' across the State from September 1 if its demands are not fulfilled by August 31 this year.

The Parishad leaders have alleged that though in 2016, the State Government had assured employment to 315 family members of the martyrs yet only five of them have been appointed so far. It also pointed to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal's commitment on August 13 this year.
