Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma meets Amit Shah, seeks CBI probe

GUWAHATI: A delegation of the Meghalaya Cabinet led by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday evening and apprised him about the situation arising out the incident on the inter-state border in Karbi Anglong that left six people dead, while requesting him to start an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the matter.

The delegation also requested Shah to implement the Meghalaya Assembly's resolution for enforcing the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system in the state.

Briefing the media after the meeting, Sangma said that the situation is turning critical after the incident at the inter-state border, adding that they want punishment to be meted out expeditiously to those responsible for the incident.
