SHILLONG: Meghalaya reported 199 single-day highest recoveries and 124 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday. The State's total recoveries stands at 3,085 till date. Meanwhile, one more COVID-19 patient died in Meghalaya, taking the fatality count in the State to 43. So far, the State have 1,977 active cases.

The deceased person has been identified as Rishikeshi Subba, (74 years), from Upper Mwaprem. Admitted at NEIGRIHMS on September 13, he breathed his last at around 12:45 am on September 24. Cause of death is Type I Respiratory Failire with Septic Shock with Covid 19 Pneumonia.

Among the 199 recovered patients on Thursday are 176 from East Khasi Hills; eight from West Garo Hills; six from West Khasi Hills; five from Ri Bhoi; two each from South West Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills.

In East Khasi Hills district, 100 new cases were reported (Armed Forces/Para Military Forces: eight; civilians: 92); followed by seven each in Ri Bhoi: seven and North Garo Hills; ; West Garo Hills: five; West Khasi Hills; two; besides one each in South West Khasi Hills, East Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills.

Out of 1,977 total active cases, in East Khasi Hills 1,399 (Armed Forces/Para Military Forces: 142 and Others : 1253). In west Khasi Hills District 09 cases , Ri Bhoi district 158 (Armed Forces/Para Military Forces: 31and Others : 127),South West Khasi Hills 05, West Jaintia Hills district 10, East Jaintia Hills district 275, West Garo Hills district 85 (Armed Forces/Para Military Forces: 44 and Others :41), South West Garo Hills district 12, South Garo Hills district 05, East Garo Hills district 07 and North Garo Hills district 16. The total COVID 19 cases so far recorded in the State is 5,105 which includes forty three deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported so far.
