GUWAHATI: The Ministry of DoNER (Development of the North Eastern Region) has formed a Special Dashboard to monitor the ongoing central projects in Assam and other states in the Northeast and coordinate among the project-implementing agencies. The Ministry has also launched a portal, Purbattar Sampark Setu, for the coordination of Union ministers visiting the northeastern states.
At present, as many as 122 projects in 55 ministries have been going on in Assam and other states in the state. However, the pace of project implementation is not the same. While some of the projects are going on at a fast pace, others are running behind schedule. The laidback attitude of the implementing agencies is one of the reasons behind the slow progress of the projects involving hundreds of crores of rupees.
According to official sources, Minister of State for DoNER B.L. Verma launched the DoNER “Data Analytics Dashboard” and “Poorvottar Sampark Setu” portals.
These tools will be a game-changer in monitoring the developmental activities of central government ministries and departments in the north-eastern region of India.
Moving forward with this vision, Minister of State for DoNER B. L. Verma virtually launched the “MDoNER Data Analytics Dashboard” and “Poorvottar Sampark Setu” portals at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, yesterday.
“DoNER Data Analytics Dashboard” has data on 112 schemes across 55 departments and ministries. It will help in (a) data-driven decision making; (b) ease of operations; (c) centralized monitoring; (d) policy-level decision tools; and (e) information integration. It will keep a close watch on NER aspirational districts, Northeast border districts, and the most backward districts in the region. Creating a benchmark for key performance indicators of schemes in the region, the Dashboard will be equipped with the latest innovations in e-governance and display information across multiple departments and ministries on a single platform.
The “Poorvottar Sampark Setu” portal is a powerful tool designed to streamline and enhance monitoring of the fortnightly visits of Union Ministers to the region. The dashboard provides valuable insights and graphical information about state- and district-wise visits to the North Eastern Region by Union ministers to be used by all the stakeholders in one place. The portal generates a curated list of ministers who can be nominated for visits to NER in the upcoming months. This list is dynamic and takes into account several factors to streamline the visits. After the visit, the minister can submit their tour reports along with their recommendations online. DoNER can forward the recommendations to the respective line ministries, departments, and state governments for quick action after analysing the same. The portal generates a summary report on the visits with a single click.
This initiative is set to redefine the landscape of ministerial visits, meticulously crafted to elevate their efficacy, transparency, and profound influence. Its fundamental mission is to unequivocally ensure that the benefits of central government schemes should reach every citizen in the North East Region, the sources said.
