MLA Dr. Numal Momin Elected as Deputy Speaker of 15th Assam Legislative Assembly

GUWAHATI: Assam Assembly Deputy Speaker: BJP's Bokajan MLA Dr Numal Momin was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the 15th Assam Legislative Assembly unopposed. Welcoming Dr Momin, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said both the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker have been elected from ST candidates.

He is a doctor and a Christian, but he is in harmony with people of all faiths. It's a matter of pride for him to hold such a post despite coming up from a poor family through struggle. AGP president Atul Bora, CLP leader Debabrata Saikia, UPPL MLA Govinda Basumatary and others also welcomed Dr Momin.

Dr Momin said that he would perform the duty of the Deputy Speaker sincerely. It will all in the House with equal dignity.
