SIVASAGAR: Setting an example of communal harmony, a Muslim family in Sivasagar donated a cow to the historic Shiva Dol in Sivasagar. The family of Khalilur Rahman Hazarika came out of the clutches of religious fanaticism and set an example for many with their generosity. Hazarika, a resident of Amguri Gaon, senior journalist, and general secretary of Sibsagar Press Club, donated the cow, which his family had been nurturing since her birth, to the Shiva Dol on Monday.

Speaking to the media, Hazarika said, “This cow is our pet. My family, especially my daughter Azra Akin Hazarika, has been nurturing her since birth. As she likes to eat biscuits, we call her Biscuit.” After performing rituals, the cow was handed over to the chief priest of Shiva Dol, Suresh Borthakur.

It is pertinent to mention here that Khalilur Rahman Hazarika had also donated a plot of land for the construction of a Namghar at Meteka Seuj Nagar nearly a year ago.
