DIBRUGARH: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a public rally in Dibrugarh on Tuesday, said that the BJP will once again form the government in 2024 and Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister for a third consecutive term. “In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP will win 12 out of 14 seats in Assam, and with over 300 seats, Modi ji will become the Prime Minister for the third time,” Shah said.

The Union Minister also launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi over his speech in London, saying that the Congress leader insulted India abroad, which no patriot would ever do. Amit Shah said that the more the opposition badmouths PM Modi, the more the BJP will grow.

“Rahul Gandhi insulted India on foreign soil. If he continues to spread lies and defame the nation, the Congress will be wiped out from the entire country after being shown the door in the Northeast,” Shah said.

The Union Home Minister also slammed the Congress, saying that once the Northeast was the fortress of the Congress, but it failed to perform in the recently concluded polls in the three northeastern states of Tripura, Meghalaya, and Nagaland despite Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

The Union Home Minister also said that the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act has been removed from 70 percent of Assam and added that issues like insurgency and agitations have become a thing of the past in the state. He said that it was because of Prime Minister Modi that the once trouble-torn Northeast saw an end to extremism and experienced all-round development.

“AFSPA has been removed from 70 percent of Assam. Bodoland and Karbi Anglong have become peaceful. Border disputes with other states are being resolved. Earlier, Assam was known for agitation and insurgency, but now there is peace and people are dancing to the beats of Bihu music,” Shah said.

The Union Home Minister also virtually laid the foundation for a regional office of the BJP in Dibrugarh from the meeting venue.
