National awards for senior citizens

Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has invited nominations on the National Awards Portal https://awards.gov.in for national awards for senior citizens -2022 to eminent senior citizens and institutions for distinguished services for the cause of elderly persons, especially indigent senior citizens, under institutional category and individual category.

The agencies or individuals eligible to make nominations of suitable persons/institutions for the awards are – (i) the ministries or departments of the Government of India and their autonomous organizations, (ii) State Government or Union Territory Administrations, (iii) past recipients of Padma Awards, senior citizen awards and other national awards in both institutional and individual categories, (iv) members of the national council of senior citizens, (v) renowned apex chambers like Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Confederation of Indian Society (CII), Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM), National Association of Software and Service Companies, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and (V) any other category of persons or institutions authorized by the Ministry from time to time.

Nominations in the prescribed proforma complete in all respects with the requisite supporting documents of the nominee, photograph and bio-data are to be uploaded on https://awards.gov.in.

The last date of receipt of the nominations is August 19, 2022. Self-nominations and applications from individuals or institutions not recommended by the prescribed agencies/individuals shall not be entertained and shall be liable to be summarily rejected.
