The NIA had taken up the case, registered at Diphupar police station, in February, 2013.

During the probe, the accused police officials were found involved in misappropriation of huge quantities of ammunitions from the Arms Kote of District Police Wokha, galand by preparing forged documents during the period 2011–2012, with an ulterior motive. “From the facts revealed during investigation, it has been established that the chargesheeted police personnel, including the senior officials, during their service tenure in the district of Wokha, entered into a crimil conspiracy with common intention to commit crimil breach of trust by indulging in pilferage of huge quantities of live ammunitions from Government Kote and to sell those ammunitions to anti tiol elements in exchange of money,” the NIA said in a statement.

Apparently, the ammunitions landed in the hands of ga undergrounds outfits which have been often accused of violating the ceasefire ground rules.
