GUWAHATI: Soon a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Deputy Commissioner's office will not be needed to transfer land to blood relations.
As per existing rules, if anyone wants to transfer his land to his blood relations, a NOC is needed from the respective DC's office to apply for the land transfer. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma observed that many such cases are kept pending in the DC's office due to which the whole process of transferring land to blood relations becomes cumbersome. Many a time, people refrain from transferring land in the name of their blood relations to avoid applying for a NOC.
The government has now taken a decision in principle that the process of applying for a NOC to transfer land to a blood relation will be done away with. If a person wants to transfer land to his blood relations, he can apply directly for a transfer without seeking a NOC.
The State Revenue and Disaster Management Department has already prepared a proposal in this regard and it will soon be placed before the State Cabinet for approval.
