GUWAHATI: The mysterious 'non-availability' of the answer scripts of some candidates who qualified for the CCE (Combined Competitive Examination) has baffled the Justice Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission. The APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) conducted the examination and declared the results on May 12, 2015.

State Government formed the Justice Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission after a direction from the Gauhati High Court. Justice Sharma was a former judge of the Gauhati High Court.

The one-member judicial commission inquired into the anomalies in the cash-for-job scam in the APSC. The judicial commission investigated anomalies in the CCE main examination.

The judicial commission got permission from the Special Court, Assam for access to the answer scripts of the 241 candidates who had qualified for the CCE (M) examination. However, during the investigation, the judicial commission did not find the answer scripts of seven or eight qualified candidates. The commission is in a quandary regarding the status of the seven or eight candidates.

According to sources, the judicial commission has nearly completed the drafting of its report. The commission will submit its report to the government on or before March 31, 2022. The term of the judicial commission will expire on March 31, 2022.

Sources further said that the inquiry commission would write regarding the 'not-available' answer scripts in its report to the government.

Apart from the criminal cases against 39 qualified candidates filed by the Dibrugarh Police, the judicial commission has also found anomalies in the answer scripts of 34 other qualified candidates so far.
