Parliamentary Polls In Assam: 7,06,489 First-Time  Voters To Exercise Their Franchise

GUWAHATI: Altogether 7,06,489 first-time electorates will be exercising their franchise during the forthcoming Parliamentary polls in Assam. Of these voters in the 18-19 years of age, 4,04,715 are males while 3,01,774 are females. This was revealed by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Assam, MC Sahu here on Monday. The highest number of 57,08,688 voters is in the group of 20-29 years of age. Of them, 28,75,796 are males while 28,32,892 are females.

In the age group of 30-39 years, there are 56,69,525 voters with 28,73,079 males and 27,96,446 females. On the other hand, there are 43,04,485 voters in the age group of 40-49 years, with 21,69,394 males and 21,35,091 females. In the age group of 50-59 years, there are 28,93,302 voters with 15,34,901 males and 13,58,401 females. In the age group of 60-69 years, there are 15,34,934 voters with 8,15,909 males and 7,19,025 females. In the age group of 70-79 years, there are 6,82,332 voters with 3,34,824 males and 3,47,508 females. In the last listed bracket of 80 plus years, there are 2,60,849 voters with 1,24,164 males and 1,36,685 females.

A total of 2,17,60,604 voters have been registered in the 2019 photo electoral roll. In Phase-I to be held on April 11, altogether 75,16,284 voters will be able to cast their votes in 9,574 polling stations in Assam. In Phase-II on April 18, a total of 68,36,496 voters will do so in 8,992 polling stations while in the last phase on April 23, altogether 74,07,824 voters will be able to vote in 9,577 polling stations across the State.”
