PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate 3 medical colleges in Assam

GUWAHATI: The Rongali Bihu this year is replete with good news for the state, including the inauguration of three more medical colleges. The NMC (National Medical Commission) approved MBBS classes in the three new medical colleges with 100 seats for each of them from this year in the state. The three medical colleges are at Nagaon, Nalbari and Kokrajhar respectively.
Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Guwahati on April 14 to attend the mega Bihu recital, the State Government will reap the chance to get the three medical colleges virtually inaugurated by the Prime Minister during his Guwahati visit. The Prime Minister is also going to inaugurate the AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) at Changsary on the same day.
State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta visited Nalbari Medical College and Kokrajhar Medical College, and reviewed the progress of works today. With these three medical colleges, Assam will have 1,500 MBBS seats.
