GUWAHATI, March 6: The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has ordered an inquiry to verify allegations and reports that a private junior college of Goalpara district is involved with question papers leaks of the ongoing Higher Secondary fil examitions.

The inquiry has been ordered after students and citizens on Tuesday staged a demonstration in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner of Goalpara district demanding actions against the magement of Science Academy, Goalpara for their alleged involvement in question paper leaks.

“Science Academy recently distributed model question papers of Chemistry and Mathematics among students. What has surprised us is that there were 100 per cent similarities of model question papers and the actual question papers set by the AHSEC. Examitions of Chemistry and Mathematics were held on February 27 and March 5 respectively. Three days ahead of the Physics examition, students on Tuesday received the model question paper of Physics of Science Academy. So there are strong reasons to believe that the Academy is involved in leaking of question papers,” an angry student who staged protests in front of Goalpara DC office said.

AHSEC Secretary Kamal Gogoi who visited Goalpara district on Tuesday said the Council has already taken up the matter with the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police of the district. He said an inquiry will be conducted to find out the truth and necessary actions will be initiated against the guilty.

“But examinees must not worry by the development. Examitions will be held as per the origil schedule,” Gogoi said.
