GUWAHATI: The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL), said Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal.

BCPL has signed an MoU for a streamlined logistic chain for the movement of feedstock like naphtha, propane, pentane etc. from Haldia Dock Complex (HDC) to the BCPL complex at Lepetkata in Dibrugarh. On the other hand, NRL has signed a MoU for the transportation of cargo and equipment from the USA through the Brahmaputra and the Dhansiri River to the NRL complex in Numaligarh. For this, the Dredging Corporation of India will start dredging the Dhansiri River from March, said Sonowal.
