Science topper Dhritiraj Bastav Kalita never took private tuition

MANGALDAI: In continuing his journey towards excellence in academics, HSLC exam topper of 2020, Dhritiraj Bastav Kalita brought laurels to the Darrang district by bagging the top rank in the HS final exam, 2022 in the Science stream.

Dhritiraj Bastav Kalita, an exceptionally talented boy from a rural area of the Darrang district, never took private tuition. He is the son of Naba Kumar Kalita, a physical instructor in Barampur Higher Secondary School near the historic Pothorughat. He secured a total of 491 marks out of 500, scoring 100 in Physics, 99 in Chemistry, 99 in Biology, 100 in Mathematics, 95 in English and 97 in Assamese. He is a student of Trinity Senior Secondary School at Sipajhar and appeared from the Deomornoi HS School centre. He wants to be a Science teacher. In the Kishor Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) organized by the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, he secured the 820th rank.
