Submit bills and reports in time: Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary to bureaucrats

GUWAHATI: Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary has asked all senior bureaucrats of the state administration to ensure that the Assembly Secretariat gets in time bills, reports and other documents related to Assembly sessions. The Speaker observed that due to delays in filing such documents on a few occasions, the Assembly Secretariat had to be in troubled waters while framing the daily agenda of sessions. House proceedings go on based on the daily agenda. The Assembly Secretariat needs to circulate the daily agenda of sessions for the MLAs and ministers a day before.

The Speaker held a meeting with the Chief Secretary and all senior-most secretaries of the departments last evening when he asked them to submit bills, reports etc., to the Assembly Secretariat well ahead of time for the smooth conduct of the daily business of the Assembly sessions.

The Winter Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly will start on December 20, 2022.
