Supreme Court seeks report on COVID from Assam

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court of India has asked four States including Assam to file a report on the steps taken to ease the present pandemic situation arising out of COVID-19. The direction was issued by the three-judge bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subash Reddy and MP Shah.

Statting that "worse things will happen in December if the States aren't well prepared", the Supreme Court on Monday also warned Delhi, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. The apex Court has directed the four States to file their reports in two days.

"We are hearing of a huge spike in the current month. We want a latest status report from all States. Worse things may happen in December if the States aren't well prepared," the top Court said, asking the four States for a report on the present situation, management of patients and steps taken to ease the situation.
