GUWAHATI: The Secondary Education, Assam has instructed schools and district administrations in the state to ensure smooth vaccination of teens of the age group 15-18 years. The vaccination drive for this age group will start on January 3, 2021, in coordination with the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The department instructed that –

(i) The Inspectors of Schools of the respective districts will select at least ten schools in the smaller districts and 15 to 20 schools in the bigger districts for the vaccination drive.

(ii) The schools will make arrangements of two rooms separately for girls and boys for the vaccination.

(iii) They will also arrange two waiting/resting rooms inside the school campus for the vaccinated girls and boys.

(iv) They will register the mobile numbers of the students. If a student does not have a mobile, they will register the mobile number of his/her parents.

(v) If the parents also do not have mobile, they will register the mobile number of the principal/headmaster for communication.

(vi) The vaccination will conclude in the first week of March.

(vii) Inspectors of Schools shall also collect the list of junior colleges, polytechnics, technical institutions in their respective districts and coordinate with the heads of these institutions for making arrangements of centres for the vaccination drive.

(viii) The Inspectors of Schools will cover the students of private and venture schools in the vaccination drive.
