GUWAHATI: The State Government has extended the term of the Justice (Retd) Biplab Kumar Sharma Commission for inquiry into allegations of anomalies and malpractices in holding the CCE (Combined Competitive Examination)-2014 by the APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) for six months.

The State Government instituted this judicial inquiry commission on May 20, 2022, with a six-month term to conduct the inquiry and submit the report. The judicial commission doubted the role of a few APSC members and the principal controllers of examinations during the period of holding the CCE-2014. The commission sought responses from the APSC members and controllers of examinations. The commission felt it had to delve deep into the matter and sought more time. The six-month term of the commission expired on November 20, 2022.

Now the government has extended the commission's term for another six months or filing of the report, whichever is earlier.
