Top auditor asked to quit

Guwahati, February 26: Principal Accountant General (A&E), Assam, Shantanu Basu was today asked by the Central government to take compulsory retirement. According to allegations, Basu did not give accurate audits regarding the receipts and expenditure of the Government of Assam, in a bid to conceal the irregularities. Basu is an Indian Audit & Accounts Service (IA&AS) officer of 1984 batch.
