Trainee nurses hospitalized

Guwahati, May 31: At least fifty to sixty trainee nurses of the Shankar Madhav School of Nursing of down town university have been hospitalized after an alleged incident of food poisoning. All the trainees are boarders of the institute’s hostel located at Panikheti in the outskirts of the city. Sources said around twenty trainees were hospitalized on Friday and around 40 admitted yesterday. The trainees complained of fever and cough. The university authorities were tight-lipped on the incident. Worried parents of the trainees have questioned as to how could such an incident take place in an university associated with medical care.
