New Delhi: For the common man, the highlight of the Union Budget has always remained on what all have become cheaper and which of them has got costlier. This year too, the first full budget of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government's third term in office has been no exception.

Items that have become cheaper:

n Mobile phones

n Lifesaving drugs and medicines

n EV batteries

n Frozen Fish Paste (Surimi)

n Wet Blue leather

n Carrier-grade ethernet switches

n 12 Critical minerals

n Open Cells of LCD/LED TVs

n Basic Customs Duty exempted on raw materials for manufacturing ships for another 10 years.

n Marine products

n Cobalt products

n LED

n Scrap of lithium-ion battery, Lead, Zinc and 12 more critical minerals

n Imported cars priced over USD 40,000 or engine capacity of more than 3,000 cc

n Imported motorcycles as completely built (CBU) unit with engine capacity not exceeding 1600cc

n Motorcycles with engine capacity not exceeding 1600cc imported in semi-knocked down (SKD) form and completely knocked down (CKD) form

n Imported motorcycles with engine capacity of 1600cc and above in CBU form

n Imported vehicles for transport of 10 or more persons

n Parts of electronic toys

n Synthetic flavouring essences and mixtures, used in food and drink industries

n Articles of Jewellery, goldsmiths' and silversmiths' ware

Items that have become costlier:

n Smart meter

n Solar Cells

n Imported footwear

n Imported Candles and tapers

n Imported Yachts and other vessels

n PVC Flex Films, PVC Flex Sheets, PVC Flex Banner

n Certain imported knitted fabrics

n Interactive Flat Panel Displays which are imported as completely built units.
