

NEW DELHI: Work on the 4th unit of the Namrup Fertiliser Plant will be taken up soon. A meeting was held to discuss the matter threadbare at the official residence of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Wednesday in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and senior officials of the Assam Government, Ministry of Finance, Chemicals and Fertilisers and Petroleum and Natural Gas.
The meeting decided to study various aspects regarding the 4th unit of the plant such as the availability of gas and other technical matters and to sit for another round of discussion after a month.
The Chief Minister exuded optimism that the work on the 4th unit of the Namrup-based Brahmaputra Valley Fertiliser Corporation Limited (BVFCL) will start soon following the intervention of the Union Finance Minister. "Much headway will be made following the intervention of Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman," he quipped, a press release said.
