38 BSF personnel posted in Tripura test COVID-19 positive, CM seeks report

Tripura: The COVID-19 pandemic situation in Tripura has been seen worsening as around 38 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel posted in the state have been confirmed as infected by the deadly virus in the last three days. A sense of panic appear to have gripped the state.

Cause of the largescale infection among BSF personnel is yet to be ascertained.

According to reports, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has sought a detail report from the BSF. State Home Secretary, Barun Kumar Sahu has written to the BSF IG regarding the matter.

"The BSF has been asked to submit a detailed report on the spread of COVID-19 in its camp. The report is to be submitted within seven days," a source said.
