AGARTALA: Four persons sustained injuries when two groups of BJP supporters clashed at Amjadnagar area under Hrishyamukh block of Belonia in South Tripura district on Thursday night. The injured include upa-pradhan of Banshpadua Gao-Panchayat Tapan Guha and president of the BJP Minority Morcha' Hrishyamukh Mondol Committee Rahim Mian. All the injured were taken to Belonia and later the other two injured persons – Mana and Milan were shifted to Udaipur District hospital as their condition were found critical.

The tension was brewing following a police raid in a house in the bordering village of Amjadnagar. Both the groups were accusing each other of misusing power and indulging in corruption and smuggling.

After the police raid, both the groups started assembling and accusing each other which ultimately turned into a violent clash. Two cases were filed by the rival groups accusing 12 persons of indulging in violence but the police is yet to arrest anyone. However, the police claimed the situation is under control.
