Counting of votes for the 126 member Assam Legislative Assembly is underway.
Saupathar Assembly constituency's BJP candidate Biswajit Phukan and AJP candidate Raju Phukan appeared confident of winning with a majority.
The counting of votes for Sarupathar Constituency is underway in the counting room of Sarupathar College premises. 14 counting tables in two halls and 3 postal ballots counting table have been set up. At least 25 rounds of counting are expected.
Speaking to the media, Sarupathar BJP candidate Biswajit Phukan said, "We are confident that we will win. I would like to congratulate all candidates."
Saupathar AJP candidate, Raju Phukan said, "Today new history will be created. I will surely win in Sarupathar."
28 EVM and three postal counting supervisors, assistant supervisors, Micro Observers and some reserved officers were appointed for smooth conduct of vote counting for Sarupathar Constituency under Golaghat district
