Assam Farmers Suffer Loss Due to COVID-19 Curbs

Most farmers managed to harvest their crops despite the COVID-19 pandemic, but many of them are staring at losses, mostly due to the Covid restrictions in the state.

A majority of farmers in Jamugurihat have been facing losses.

They did water melon farming but left with no market to sell they are now at a loss.

Farmers are hoping for some financial assistance from the government.

Speaking to the media, a farmer said, "We could not sell our products due to COVID 19. Government should provide financial assistance to us as we are in losses."
