ATTSA Demands Separate SOP in Tea Gardens Workers

As coronavirus is spreading faster among tea garden workers across the tea belt areas of Assam, the Assam Tea Tribes Students' Association (ATTSA) Naharkatiya branch urged upon the government to formulate 'special SOP' for tea gardens.

In Dibrugarh's Naharkatiya, several workers tested positive in 14 tea estates.

More than 150 families from Hapjan, Joypur, Torajan, Naharkatiya, Lengerijan, Koliapani, Disam, Asabam, Umatora, Harishpur, Satishpur etc tea estate were tested positive for the infection.

Speaking to the media, Naharkatiya branch AATSA president Bacchan Gowalla urged the government to conduct more COVID testing and to provide vaccine in tea garden area.

AATSA also demanded special SOP for tea estate.
