The event was organised in Goraimari of Chaygaon today under the patronage of MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed. A total of nine teams from different places participated in this event. Once a very popular sport across the state, traditional boat racing is now limited to very few events in the state. The teams constitute 15-20 players of different ages and functions race to be the first to cross the finish line.People thronged to watch the boat race and shouted themselves hoarse, egging on their favourite teams to win.
