Chinese Police assaulted & detained a journalist covering a protest against COVID-19 curbs in Shanghai. Later released him several hours later. Identified as Ed Lawrence, an accredited BBC journalist. Video went viral on social media. Shanghai, one of the Chinese cities, has seen protests against stringent COVID restrictions in recent days.
