Key Highlights Of Assam Cabinet Meet In Silchar

In the 1st Cabinet meeting at Silchar in Barak valley on Tuesday several important decisions were taken. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announces key decisions of Cabinet Meet. Number of Orunudoi beneficiaries to be increased by extending the pension policy to Indira Miri and Deen Dayal Upadhyay scheme beneficiaries. 3 new flyovers to come up in Guwahati, to be sanctioned within a year at Downtown hospital traffic point, at Fatasil Cycle factory point and at Kumarpara-Fatasil point with an aim to eliminate heavy traffic. 'Bikaxor Babey Prothom Poxok' or 1st round of development will be started from Dec 5 and will continue up to Dec 18.

During this period, there will be devp projects, mainly related to infrastructure in Bongaigaon, Nalbari, Golaghat, Jorhat and Dhemaji districts.Also, announced a Rs 1000 crore development project for Bongaigaon new projects in Nalbari - including a new Medical college and a bridge at Tamulpur. In Golaghat, there will be a new state highway linking the town, a new DC office and a hospital. In Jorhat, the Lachit Barphukan memorial, a new stadium, a new DC office to come up. A new bridge connecting Majuli to Lakhimpur was also announced, for which the tender process is already done and work will begin soon. 2nd round of development activities will be taken up from Jan 5, 2023. Several projects also announced for Silchar which hosted the meet. Projects at Silchar include an outlay of Rs 59 crores for Betukandi embankment,Rs 135 crores for a mini secretariat, an elevated corridor at Ramnagar and upgrading of GC College into a University
