Majority of Goa Congress MLA's Officially Merges with BJP

In a major setback to the Congress party, the majority in Goa Congress has officially merged with the BJP. The Assembly Speaker has accepted the merger, reports said.

8 Congress members have joined the BJP in Goa. The figure represents a two- thirds majority deserting the 'grand old party'.

This comes at a time when the Congress is in the middle of a Bharat Jodo Yatra. BJP leaders scoffed at the party saying, "The Congress should have a Congress Jodo Yatra instead."

Big names like Micheal Lobo have joined the BJP in Goa. There is talk of 'lack of leadership' in Goa Congress.
