Teenage Girl Resists Rape, Gets Beaten Up, Mother-Son Duo Arrested in Jamugurihat, Assam

Jamugurihat police arrested a mother and son on Friday for beating up a teenage girl at Chamdhara in Jamugurihat. The victim alleged that the boy tried to rape her and when she resisted, they beat her up. The arrested have been identified as Rina Nath and Dibyajyoti Nath.

As per reports, the victim had gone to Rina Nath and Dibyajyoti Das's house in search of her goat on Friday afternoon.

Locals gathered at the accused persons' house.

Speaking to the media, the victim said, "I had gone to their house in search of our goat. But they suddenly started beating me with bamboo. The boy tried to rape."
