Tingrai Blast Case: Assam Police Arrests Two

In a big breakthrough, Assam Police arrested two persons on Tuesday in connection with the suspected grenade blast at Tingrai Market of Digboi in the Tinsukia district on May 14.

The police have identified the accused persons as Hiren Gogoi and Ranjit Changmai (19).

A joint team of police and the Army arrested the accused persons. Police recovered the bike also.

Further investigations are on.

Speaking to the media, police official said, "We have arrested two persons in connection with Tingrai blast. We recovered some items, we will disclose after investigation. Further investigation in going on."

The Tingrai blast claimed two lives and two people were injured following which Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the blast spot and met the victim's family and assured justice.

The government has given Rs 5 lakh each as one time compensation to the families of the victims.

Earlier on Saturday, Tinsukia police had announced a cash reward of up to Rs.2 lakhs for anyone giving concrete information about the miscreants behind the Tingrai blast.
