FASTag enables electronic payment of fees at toll plazas directly from the bank account linked to it or to the toll owner through the radio-frequency identification (RFID) bar code imprinted on the sticker and is attached to the vehicle’s windshield. Govt. has made it mandatory at every toll plaza in the country.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
Copy of Vehicle Registration Certificate, 2 Passport size photos of the owner, KYC (Know Your Customer) documents for ID and address proofs - PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID Card, and Aadhar Card.
FEES:
FASTag one-time joining fee - Rs. 100, Reissuance fee - Rs. 200, Refundable security deposit fee - Rs. 200 which may differ depending on the vehicle type.
ONLINE PROCEDURE:
Step 1: Visit the official websites of the banks permitted to offer FASTag services. On the homepage of the website, click on 'Get FASTag' / 'Apply for FASTag' link.
Step 2: Enter your mobile number and an OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the phone number entered. After receiving the OTP, enter it and click on submit.
Step 3: Enter your personal details in the application form and upload all the mandatory documents. After reviewing all the details filled in, submit the form online and make the online payment.
OFFLINE PROCEDURE:
One can visit any of the Point of Sale (POS) locations at toll plazas, fill the FASTag form and submit the documents at the POS counter or go to bank branches authorized to sell FASTtag and collect it.
