ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
First, you have to be an Indian citizen residing within India, 18 years old on the qualifying date i.e. 1st January of the year. You would also need to enroll yourself with the Election Commission and get your Voter ID card.
WHAT YOU NEED TO ENROLL FOR YOUR VOTER ID CARD:
Recent passport-size colour photo, Age proof/Identity proof - Copy of Birth Certificate/PAN card/10th Standard certificate/Passport/Aadhar, etc, Address proof - Copy of Passport/Bank Passbook, Aadhar, etc.
OFFLINE ENROLLING PROCESS:
Step 1: Get the registration form from the Electoral Registration Officer/the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your own constituency or from Booth Level Officers of your polling station free of any costs or download the E-form from https://www.nvsp.in/. and print it.
Step 2: Fill in the form and attach the copy of all the required documents and submit it in person to the Electoral Registration Officer / Assistant Electoral Registration Officer or send it at the address of the Electoral Registration Officer or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency.
Step 3: Only after 8-9 months from the date of applying, you will receive your Voter ID.
ONLINE ENROLLING PROCESS
Step 1: Visit the official website of the National Voter's Service Portal https://www.nvsp.in/. A drop-down menu appears, select the state you reside and after that, you will be redirected to your state-specific Chief Electoral Officer page.
Step 2: For existing users, just log in to your account but in case of a new user, click on the “Register” button and enter the basic details to create an account, then click “Continue” to log in to the credentials sent to your registered email ID, and after that, change the password.
Step 3: After logging in, click “Apply online”, fill the form correctly, uploading the passport-size photo required and click on “Submit”. After the completion, visit the nearest voter ID facilitation center with the required documents like address and identity proofs to complete the formality.
Step 4: You will receive your Voter ID within 30 days from the day of your submission of the application form.

HOW TO CAST YOUR VOTE
Step 1: Show your voter ID card or any other ID card like PAN card, Driving License, Aadhar card, Ration card with your photo to the polling official at the booth.

Step 3. Cast your vote by pressing the ballot button next to the symbol of the candidate of your choice on the EVM, you will hear a beep. A slip with the candidate's serial no., name, and symbol will appear in the transparent window of the VVPAT machine before it drops in the sealed VVPAT box.
