Kanpur Metro: Route, Map, And Fare, Here's all You Need to Know

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the 9-km long completed section of the Kanpur Metro Rail project. The section from IIT-Kanpur to Motijheel which was inaugurated on Tuesday just took two year's time to complete. The Prime Minister also undertook the ride from IIT-Kanpur to Motijheel and he was accompanied by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

--The entire length of Kanpur metro is 32 km and is still under construction in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur.
-- The Kanpur Metro rail project is expected to be the fastest built in the country and it is being built at a cost of over Rs 11,000 Crore.

-- With this project, it is expected to tackle traffic woes and congestion in the city.
-- The first corridor set was inaugurated on Tuesday which is 9-km long and stretches between IIT to Motijheel.
--Reportedly, the first section of the project is expected to open in January 2022.
Kanpur Metro route
The Kanpur Metro Rail Project will be developed in two phases. Under phase-1, a network spanning 32.385 km will be built with two lines – the Red Line and the Blue Line and which will connect major public places and areas of Kanpur.
Kanpur Metro Fare
Reportedly, the fare will be a minimum of Rs 10 and a maximum Rs 30 fare: Metro Rail Primary Corridor will run from IIT to Motijheel. Its minimum fare will be Rs 10 and the maximum fare will be Rs 30. The fare from IIT to Motijheel will be Rs 30. You will be able to ride between two stations by paying a fare of Rs 10.
