MY LAB'S COVISELF: INDIA'S FIRST SELF-TESTING COVID-19 KIT

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has approved the country’s first Covid-19 self-testing kit for home use.

Named as ''CoviSelf'' it has been developed by MyLab Discovery Solutions, a Pune-based molecular company.

This new Self testing kit is developed to ease pressure on overburdened testing labs and to reduce delays in testing.

It uses a rapid antigen test, in which a nasal swab sample is tested and gives results within 15 minutes.

This test is synced with a mobile app, CoviSelf, which will help directly feed the positive case’s report on the ICMR portal.

According to ICMR guidelines this kit can be used only by symptomatic individuals and others who came in contacts with positive patients.

This testing kit cost Rs.250 per pack.

The Coviself kit likely to be available on the Private stores and e-market place. And can be purchased without prescription.
