Mastizaade starring Sunny Leone, Vir Das, and Tushar Kapoor was the film with the most number of cuts. Out of 381 cuts, 349 were voluntary and the remaining ones were deleted by the Censor Board. It is an erotic comedy movie that is rated as ‘A’ by the CBFC.
Great Grand Masti, 218 Cuts
Great Grand Masti is a sequel of Masti, Grand Masti. It was marketed claiming to be India’s first Sex-comedy film. The crew was ready to take the ‘A’ tag from the CBFC but the board demanded more than 200 cuts. On top of that, the CBFC also filed a PIL against the release of the movie on national television. The movie is well known for its double meaning dialogues.
Miss Lovely, 157 Cuts
The movie starring the ace actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui explores the C-grade film industry. The movie received 157 cuts after the first screening at the CBFC. However, after a long battle and 4 more screenings, the movie was finally released with 4 cuts. The movie got an award for the best national film in 2012
Kyaa Kool Hai Hum 3, 150 Cuts
The movie got a hype claiming that it is India’s first porn-comedy. The makers tweeted that the audience is ready for such humor but the Censor Board isn’t. The movie stars Tushar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani, and was released with an ‘A’ certificate.

One of the most controversial movies of all time Udta Punjab was initially said to have 94 cuts. However, after a long period of controversy, the movie was released with a single cut. The movie stars Shahid Kapoor. Udta Punjab depicts how the young population of Punjab is falling into the drug racquet.

Saif Ali Khan acted in Kaalakandi, it was allowed to release after 73 cuts while a similar film Delhi Belly was released without any cuts. Mostly all the cuts were of graphic created scenes, this was argued upon by the filmmakers. The release date of the film was also postponed due to the deletion.

Initially, the CBFC completely abandoned the movie, as it depicted women living their fantasies above their lives. But after an appeal from the makers, the film was released. There were some harsh and long cuts to ensure the suitability of the film.
