11 COVID-19 positive cases in Biswanath district

BISWANATH CHARIALI: As many as 11 COVID-19 positive cases came to light in Biswanath district on Friday night. According to information, COVID-19 positive people were detected in three quarantine centres in the district. The affected persons were identified as Iyat Kumar of Behali, Shantilal Kurmi of Chatia, Suman Acharya of Gamiri (in Gohpur Chaiduar College Quarantine Center), Luku Baruah of Chatia, Suresh Darjee of Behali and Rudra Chetri of Chatia (in Bapuji High School Quarantine Center) and Surya Chetri and Padmalal Sharma of Chatia and Udishman Saikia, Makhan Saikia and Dimpi Saikia of Gohpur (at Biwanath Chariali SIRD Quarantine Centre).

The Saikia trio of Gohpur belongs to the same family and they had recently returned from Mumbai after undergoing cancer treatment. All the positive persons were sent to Tezpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment on Friday night.
