DHUBRI: Union Minister of State for Defence and Tourism Ajay Bhatt visited Dhubri on Friday and inspected the progress of Dhubri-Phulbari Bridge and held a meeting with 7 Assam NCC Cadet at BN College and the high officials of Dhubri.. Union Minister, Bhatt visited the site of construction of Asia's biggest bridge (19.67 kms) with Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Anbamuthan MP, Dhubri Superintendent of Police, Abhijit Gaurav Dilip and other high officials of the district and had a talk with engineers engaged in the construction and enquired about the progress of works.

He then met the Dhubri B.N.College unit of 7 Assam NCC Cadets and interacted with the cadets in the auditorium of the college. Later he held a meeting with the officials of Dhubri district administration in the DC Conference Hall and took stock of various ongoing works and programmes that have been implemented in this apirational district.

Talking to The Sentinel, Dhubri District unit President of BJP, Prosenjit Dutta, who attended the leading citizens' meet held in the Dhubri Circuit House, said that while exchanging views with the citizens he had highlighted their problems to the BJP-led government at Centre and State.

Dutta said that the Union Minister had also said that socio-welfare and other works are being carried on the line of PM Narendra Modi's slogan -'Sab Ka Sath Sab Ka Vikash'. The Union Minister expressed satisfaction over the works that have been implemented in Dhubri district.
