Sivasagar police arrested one for writing in support of ULFA-I on social media

SIVASAGAR: Sivasagar police arrested a youth of Sivasagar for allegedly writing in support of insurgent group United Liberation Front of Assam- Independent (ULFA-I) on social media. According to police sources, Lukapriya Baruah alias Biju Baruah of Betbari area was arrested on Thursday for his alleged post supporting proscribed ULFA (I) on social media.

The sources said that the cyber cell of the office of the Superintendent of Police, Sivasagar had been monitoring the social networking sites used by Baruah suspecting him to be a supporter of ULFA (I) and writing and sharing posts supporting the outfit.

After filing a case by the Sivasagar Police itself, police arrested Baruah and interrogated him on Thursday. Baruah was produced before the court on Friday and later sent to jail.
