DP Wahlang appointed as MeECL chairman-cum managing director

SHILLONG: The government has appointed additional chief secretary in-charge education, DP Wahlang as the chairman-cum-managing director of Meghalaya Electricity Corporation Limited (MeECL) and its three subsidiaries – MPGCL, MPTCL and MPDCL.

Earlier, chief secretary Rebecca Suchiang was holding the post. In a separate notification, Wahlang was made in-charge of Home (police) and Home (political) departments. He has been relieved of charges of SAD, Forest and Environment and PWD.
